SEIR Title Lists

I've had several requests for SEIR title lists that have a separate sheet that only has what is new to the title list. I'm not sure how easy this is for SEIR to get obtain from the vendors but would a list like this help out? When I update a target with a new SEIR list, I deactivate all of the portfolios and then reactivate using the title list. I'm guessing there are other uses for the title list and having only the new titles would be helpful, yes?

Yeah, it would be helpful to always have a separate sheet with the newly added titles and one for the titles that have been dropped from the package.

Most important is to have an authoritative title list as early in the process as possible. I suspect these timing issues are likely related to negotiations and communication issues with the publisher. One example that illustrates the impact this problem has on our local workflow is the recent Sage package renewal. The list of Sage titles included in the coded memo (reply was due 11/30/07), was different than the finalized Sage list that appeared on the SEIR web site on March 11, 2008. Because the lists were not identical, we had to either drop local subscriptions that appeared in the Sage list, or purchase individual subscriptions to the titles that disappeared from the list. It's not unusual to have to cancel and requesting a refund for subscriptions we renewed because the package title list did not indicate it was included in the package. In other cases, we must decide whether to reinstate individual subscriptions because although the coded memo title list indicated these titles would be included in the package, the March 11th list didn't include them any longer.

Another suggestion is that an email message be sent to the listserv as soon as authoritative title lists are available.
